Super Series Round 1

Boyndie ‘Drome Circuit, Banff

The team’s first race weekend of the 2010 season got underway in a big fashion at Boyndie ‘Drome kart circuit, near Banff as the first round of the Scottish Super Series got underway.

A superb performance in qualifying saw Jordan line-up 4th on the grid for his first ever ICC gearbox race and his first competitive appearance in a kart for over two years. A strong first race ended with a third place finish and as the day progressed, the team landed 4th in heat 2 and 6th in the final.

Jordan made an impressive start in the final to snatch 3rd at ther first corner after his 4th place starting slot. However, having changed the kart setup for the final in an attempt to improve the balance, it was obvious that the team had gone the wrong way as Jordan struggled to hold off the following pack and slipped to 7th by the halfway point. A gritty fightback saw Jordan take 6th from reigning super series champion Mervyn Cobb but no further progress was to be had.

“Overall I’m very satisfied with the way our first kart weekend in a long time has went.’ said Jordan. ‘We’re still not quite where we want to be with regards to setup and the balance isn’t quite there with the kart yet, but to secure these kind of results despite that is fantastic. A huge thanks to my dad and all our 2010 sponsors for their help so far this year!”
