As Jordan and the team look for new challenges, the search has taken them back to where the story began in 1999; the highly competitive and exciting sport of Kart Racing.
In 2010, Jordan will compete in the 125 gearbox ICC class (KZ2 UK) which boasts the fastest short-circuit machinery in the world. With speeds in excess of 120mph, sequential 6-speed gearbox, 0-60mph in 4 seconds and a power-to-weight ratio that puts an Audi R8 to shame, these karts are seriously quick. Braking forces in excess of 1g and sustained cornering loads of 2g also make the experience of driving them far more physical than anything the team have raced before.
“I am extremely excited about getting onto the track with an ICC this year.’ Commented Jordan. ‘The class has always been something I have wanted to race since my dad began his driving in the 250 gearbox class and I can see why he looks back with fond memories! I’ve driven an ICC a couple of times at exhibitions and open days but to be competing for real will be a real thrill!”
The team plan to take part in the GKC Club Championship, the Scottish Super Series, Scottish Championship and the Northern Challenge; all series in which success has been tasted in the Rotax class previously.
