Television Coverage
During the 2007 season, the smartycars.com Scottish Mini Cooper Cup was televised on satellite channel Motors TV, though a half-hour segment of the Motorsport UK program. Races were shown a month after each round on a Friday night prime-time slot (thereafter repeated at various times for one week), with a full hour-long show dedicated to the final two meetings (four races). This has proven massively popular with audiences and will continue in 2008, with a specifically dedicated show carrying its own title branding. This additional media coverage gives further depth to the advertising potential of the championship; reaching a significantly larger audience than spectators alone.
Live Race day Spectators
16 of the 18 rounds are set to take place at Knockhill in 2008, with increased track action per weekend (three races plus qualifying). The circuit is the only premiere motorsport facility in Scotland and as such attracts large crowds of enthusiastic spectators from all over the country on race day. This results in a further amazing opportunity for sponsors to connect with a whole spectrum of the general public by adorning on the very machines of speed which draw the crowds.
