Entering The History Books

The 2019 Scottish Motor Racing Club dinner & awards ceremony took place at the Raddison Blu hotel, Glasgow on Saturday the 23rd of November. The team were in attendance, with Jordan there to formally receive the Romanes Quaich as winner of the 2019 Scottish Formula Ford Championship, as well as the David Leslie Trophy for the victory on that special weekend in July. Joining Jordan and Harry were Jordan's mum, Anne and wife, Karen, along with representatives from two of the team's 2019 sponsors; Angelwax Ltd and 1 Plus 1 Accountancy Services.

The evening proved a lively affair with Hosts Paul O'Neil (of BTCC fame), Joe Tanner and Fiona Wallace providing plenty of laughs as they guided the attendees through the event, including a UK-first as the SMRC e-sports final took place live on-stage.

The team's night got better and better as things progressed;

Jordan received the Jock McBain memorial Trophy in addition to the Romanes Quaich to mark the championship title - a stunning Sterling Silver steering wheel emblazoned with the famous Border Reivers logo and first presented to the club by the legendary Jim Clark in 1965.

The SMRC had also teamed-up with Torq Racewear to present each champion with a fantastic bespoke Nomex top.

I have to keep pinching myself whenever I realise that my name is on the same trophy as Jim Clark!

The final and completely unexpected accolade came in the announcement that Jordan had been selected by the club as this year's recipient of the Border Motor Racing Club (BMRC) Trophy. The award, touted as the 'Champion of Champions' trophy, represents the pinnacle of achievement for driver's competing in Scotland and Jordan's name joins many famous previous winners, including David Leslie in and Jim Clark.

"I'm absolutely lost for words and completely overwhelmed!" Said Jordan. "It's just unbelievable to receive these awards and especially the BMRC trophy, which was a total surprise! I have to keep pinching myself whenever I realise that my name is on the same trophy as Jim Clark! This achievement is something I will treasure forever and I an truly humbled and honoured. Thank you so much to the club and for everyone who has made this season possible!"
