Jordan withdraws from Interlagos eSports race

As preparations for the team's return to racing this weekend at Cadwell Park step up a gear, we have been forced to make the unfortunate decision to withdraw from this evening's SMRC eSports iRacing round 6 event at the virtual recreation of Autódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos).

Jordan said:

"It's unfortunate as I like the Interlagos track and was really looking forward to getting back out there again after such an amazing event at Donington. However, with Cadwell Park this weekend marking our return to real-world racing (and the first competitive outing in the car since October) that obviously has to take priority. Our original plan was to do the eSports race and then head down early on Friday morning for testing at Cadwell in the afternoon, but we've since had the opportunity to test for the full day on Friday, meaning we have to leave on Thursday instead.'

'Whilst I'm a little sad to miss the next eSports round, I am absolutely buzzing about the chance to race for-real again and to get an unexpected extra half-day at Cadwell - one of the best circuits I've ever driven on - it's really an easy decision to make.'

'Of course this pretty much puts an end to our fortunes in the SMRC eSports championship as we won't score any points tonight, which is a shame as we had just moved into the top-5 after Donington and the car was feeling competitive again in last night's pre-race test so I'm sure we could have consolidated that. But still, I'm very much looking forward to the final two rounds at Monza and Bathurst on a race-by-race basis and hopefully to get onto the podium again. All the best to everyone who is racing tonight!"
